PERSONAL NOTE:
Dr. Stuckey is one of the first women to practice orthodontics in the state of Louisiana. She was ranked fourth in her class at the University of Texas Health Science Center, Dental Branch at Houston. She was the third woman to graduate with a Certificate in Orthodontics from the University of Texas.
Dr. Stuckey has traveled to Ireland, Great Britain, Wales, France, Germany, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Canada, Central America, Spain, and Hong Kong. While in these various countries she has made it a point to visit private dental practices, as well as dental schools at universities. In October of 2007 she toured China with the People to People Orthodontic delegation. While there she visited with Chinese orthodontists in private practices and the University programs in Orthodontics in the cities of Beijing, Guilin, and Shanghai.
She is active in the New Orleans Dental Association, the New Orleans Dental Conference Committee, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, the American Association of Orthodontists, and the Texas Orthodontic Study Club.
On August 29, 2005 her life, along with
thousands of others, was immediately changed by the levee breaks and surrounding
collapse of the New Orleans area after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. She
returned as quickly as possible to begin clean-up and restoration of her home
and office that were both severely damaged.
Outside of Orthodontics she may be found in her home studio on the guitar, bass,
