Important H. Katrina nOTICEs TO ALL OUR PATIENTS:
Scroll Down to view chronological notices
Update spring 2008: We are operating pretty much close to "pre-Katrina" conditions minus one clinical assistant. Thanks so much to all of you who have come back or moved in and supported the recovery of our office. We are very grateful for your continued confidence and our best wishes are with all of you. Our staff consists of myself, Pam, at the front desk, Julie, now in the clinical area, Ann, at the front desk and clinical area as necessary, and Leslie, our new clinical assistant.
Carol Stuckey & Staff: Pam, Julie, Ann, & Leslie
Summer 2007: We have extra help now and it is great. Thanks so much for your patience with us. John and Sara have joined our staff for the summer. We also have a new chairside assistant who moved to the area from Richmond, VA. Her name is Terri and I know you'll enjoy meeting her and the summer interns.
UPDATE 9-20-2006:
Although we have had a shortage of staff the entire year those of us remaining have worked very hard to continue to provide the same high quality care we were delivering before Katrina. The ramp-up time in December of last year helped us to begin seeing anyone who called starting in January.
At this one year anniversary point we are all grateful to be here and we are not taking any of those "little things in life" for granted any more. It is time to say thanks to so many of you who have been patient with us throughout the entire process of rebuilding the office.
So thanks to all of you, especially our patients, who have shown us such tremendous support throughout this year. You inspired us to carry on.
Sincerely,
Carol Stuckey and Staff: Pam, Julie, Ann
UPDATE 1-14-2006:
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL! The office is mostly complete and we are back to our regular schedule. We've had a change in staffing because three chairsides assistants are out of state and not coming back. Julie is doing a great job in the treatment area now. Pam has added another day and is working at the front and tending to the accounting/bookkeeping as usual. Ann has joined our team and is presently in training. Please welcome her when you visit. A very special thank you to Pam and Julie for helping us get the office restored. There is no way I could have done this without them.
UPDATE 12-5-2005: We are now seeing patients in the Metairie Office. Although the office is not complete it is functional and we look forward to seeing you back in the Metairie Road office. The Metairie phone number at 504-835-1349 is working and no longer relayed. Please use that number for communication with the office. Please send any correspondence to our address at 701 Metairie Road, Suite 1A-204, Metairie, LA 70005 as we are receiving mail here.
UPDATE 11-9-2005: Repairs are continuing in the Metairie office and I am still seeing patients in Dr. Simon's Metairie office on Monday and Fridays and Tuesdays in the Slidell office. The cabinets for the office have been ordered and we are hoping most of the baseboard will be placed this weekend. Next week we are planning to begin organizing the office again and we may begin seeing patients in the Metairie Office within a couple of weeks. The server is still in the hands of the computer tech and we are hoping to have it back by late next week. Thanks so much for your patience and understanding while we rebuild our office. We are certainly looking forward to seeing you again.
UPDATE 10-5-2005: Tentative Metairie Working Schedule (subject to change).
Monday 9am - 4 pm : Appointments scheduled with Dr Stuckey in Dr. Simon's office at 3330 Kingman St. Metairie, LA
Friday 9 am - 12 pm: Appointments scheduled with Dr. Stuckey in Dr. Simon's office at 3330 Kingman St. Metairie, LA
Please disregard any previously scheduled appointment in the Metairie office . Refer to update on 10-4-2005 to appreciate our working conditions at the moment. Though most of you are living and working under difficult circumstances as well, I really appreciate how understanding you have all been. Thank you very much. We shall overcome.
Update 10-4-2005:
I am minimally scheduling patients in another office only when absolutely necessary as I have no chairside assistants, no access to records, only one chair, and limited office access. Pam Wrenn has set up answering the phones from her house in Pearl River and is working hard to help us get back up and running. Please be patient with us during these trying times to get up and operational. As we progress we will develop a workable schedule. Thank you so much.
UPDATE 9-29-2005: I have been able to come back to the New Orleans area to begin the repair of my home and office and continue the care for our patients who have returned home or to the area. Although the work is continuing on the repair of the Metairie Road office, if you have come back I may be able to see you at another location in Metairie in the office of Dr. Shannon Simons at 3330 Kingman St. Suite III, Metairie, LA 70006.
If you are in need of an appointment, please call our office number at 504-835-1349 and we will schedule a time to see you. Our temporary mailing address for all correspondence is: Dr. Carol Stuckey, 65430 Maxi Lane, Pearl River, LA 70452 ATTN: Pam Wrenn.

UPDATE 9-21-2005:
Checked on the Metairie office on Monday, September 19, 2005.
Cleanup began Monday pm but it appears the Metairie office will not be
operational for about 6 weeks depending on the contractors. It appears the
equipment and files are fine but the carpet, sheetrock, and ceiling tiles need
replacing. Hopeful to get some type of housing for myself within a
couple of weeks a little closer to area. Hurricane Rita and the
evacuation of the area Tuesday, September 20, 2005 has definitely slowed down
the process. For Metairie patients needing to make payments or to
send correspondence, a temporary mailing address for Metairie Office is : Dr.
Carol Stuckey
65430 Maxi Lane
Pearl River, LA 70452 ATTN: Pam Wrenn, Office/Accts Mgr
Pam will be able to access files probably beginning late Thursday, September 22, 2005. The Slidell office was not damaged and I may be able to see some of you in that office or another Metairie office soon.
I have received many emails from you and today for the first time we were able to check messages at the 504-835-1349 Metairie phone number. Thanks so much for your words of support. Many of you plan to return and we so look forward to seeing you again soon. I'll try to meet your needs for orthodontics as best we can until we are fully operational. Thanks so much for your patience. Now lets hold our breath for H. Rita.
